A brief history of the Chicago & North Western route from Beloit to Winona:

06/26/21

This bridge is a simple deck girder bridge, converted to trail usage.
The structure isn't very significant, but is still noteworthy of a typical structure along The 400 State Trail.
While only a single track is used for trail use, the entire bridge was built for two tracks.
Resting on stone abutments, the bridge remains in good condition. It is approached by a single span of trestle on either side.

The author has ranked this bridge as being locally significant, due to the common design.
The photo above is an overview of the bridge. It can be seen from WI-82.
